School Trips, Visits and Visitors

The Governing Body endorses the policy of Wirral Local Authority with respect to charging for certain school activities. School trips and visits form an important part of the curriculum. Parents are not required to pay for such visits but are asked to make voluntary contributions towards their cost. If the contributions made are insufficient to enable a planned trip to take place, the Headteacher may cancel the trip or make any changes to the organisation of the trip as she thinks necessary.

Trips, Visits and Visitors

At Greasby Junior School, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Throughout the school year, children have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of trips, visits and workshops that enrich their education and bring learning to life.

Some of these experiences involve the whole school, while others are tailored to specific year groups. They may include local visits and walks within our community—such as to the library or church—as well as welcoming visitors into school to perform or lead workshops. These can range from history workshops and geography fieldwork, to anti-bullying drama performances and creative learning opportunities.

At times, the learning journey extends even further.

Our children benefit from memorable visits to museums, historical sites, and places of geographical interest. We also offer residential outdoor learning experiences in Year 4 and Year 6, which allow pupils to develop independence, teamwork and resilience while making lasting memories.

School trips and visits are a vital part of the curriculum, helping children to connect their classroom learning with real-world experiences, broaden their horizons, and inspire curiosity.
