Welcome to Year 4 at Greasby Junior School
Year 4 is a year full of opportunity, challenge and growth. With the routines of junior school now firmly in place, children begin to take greater ownership of their learning and build on the strong foundations laid in Year 3.
Throughout the year, pupils enjoy a rich and engaging curriculum with plenty of opportunities to express themselves through writing, investigate in science, and explore topics that spark curiosity and creativity. Learning is designed to be meaningful and enjoyable, with every child supported and encouraged to achieve their best.
One of the highlights of Year 4 is our first residential trip to Barnstondale—a fantastic experience that helps build resilience, independence and teamwork as children take part in a range of outdoor activities and adventures. It’s often one of the most memorable moments of the year.
As part of their journey through Key Stage 2, pupils also prepare for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in the summer term. We ensure that this is approached in a supportive and positive way, helping every child to feel confident and well-prepared.
We continue to place a strong emphasis on personal development, kindness and our school values. Year 4 is a time for children to grow—academically, socially and emotionally—and we’re proud to support them every step of the way.
